‘Be intentional about everything’

This was one of the statements I really had to pay attention to last year, and it’s something I intend on moving with all the time.

It doesn’t just affect a part of our lives but every aspect: personal, spiritual, school, work, career, health, relationships, among others.

We want all the good things in life, and we want everything to turn out well. However, all the good things won’t just come like that. They require efforts on your part, and mine as well. That’s where being intentional comes in. What does it even mean to be intentional about something?

Let’s first look at this scenario. Say you want to achieve XYZ at the end of the month. Now, XYZ will not just happen if you have it in your head or write it down and do nothing about it. XYZ will only happen if you put measures and activities in place that will help you achieve it. So, being intentional about something means consciously putting measures in place and working towards achieving your desired results.

Be intentional about everything: consciously/deliberately put measures in place and work towards achieving your desired results.

Meaning that you don’t just say ‘I want to be here or there’ and sit down on it. You need to work towards making it happen. With this, the first step should be knowing what you want to achieve. Then, you can now put measures in place and do the needful to achieve your results.

Don’t get me wrong. I know it’s not as easy as it sounds, nonetheless what needs to be done must be done. I’m aware sometimes we really want to see ourselves ‘somewhere’ but then what it takes to get there might be overwhelming, difficult, very demanding or some other thing. It doesn’t mean because it’s overwhelming, difficult or demanding, we should leave it hanging or to chance.

I truly believe in taking little steps because they all amount to something in the long run. Plus, you can’t achieve everything you’d want in this life in a day. So, put measures in place and start from the little you can do, and then you can take it from there. I believe that when we begin to appreciate and celebrate little efforts, we won’t struggle so much to get to the ultimate.

Being intentional about everything isn’t easy but it’s very essential to attaining all the good things you’d want to get. Don’t wait for things to happen by chance. Be intentional and take the first step. Remember, you got this!

A little something from me to you.
